Much more than a golf club
OVER 80 YEARS OF GOLF HISTORY IN THE HEART OF BUCKINGHAM
The first nine-hole course at Buckingham Golf Club was opened in 1933.
Originally, the Club was intended to be a private property, owned by a local industry that had set it up as a pleasant meeting place for its employees outside working hours. It took a few years before the Club was opened to the public. However, the family feel of the place remained the same.
In 1987, the course was extended from nine to eighteen holes. Eight of the original nine holes were kept and given a new configuration: the first became the tenth, the second became the eleventh, the third became the eighth, the fourth became the ninth, the sixth became the second, the seventh no longer existed, the eighth became the seventeenth, and the ninth became the eighteenth. This last hole is not really difficult, but it offers a spectacular view of the clubhouse and the natural beauty of the place.
